About Us
Fossum Aero Systems is a stable, privately owned, debt-free software development company headquartered in Norway.
We launched our Flight Ops software in 2007, a SaaS offering from the beginning. The software has since then gained several more modules and today contains what an operator needs. Continuously updated, all modules fly together in perfect formation.
While we are not offering consulting services, if you are in need of such services we can recommend experts from our pan-european network of aviation experts.
Our clients and us are players on the same team. Their feedback and ideas, together with the changing regulatory landscape as well as advances in IT, shapes our products.

The first version of our Flight Ops software goes live for our first customer. It is still in use, having survived reorganzations and buyouts along the way.2013
The MRO and SAR modules are launched2015
For the first time the software is used outside of Norway, in Sweden. This marks the beginning of our international journey.2017
First fixed-wing operator onboarded. This continues to be an important market for us.2019
The business entity is converted into today's limited stock company. Software, while continuously updated, occasionally needs major changes to stay technically relevant. We launch the third generation of our software, v3.2020
First expansion outside of the nordics, to Switzerland2021
The Manuals and Safety Management modules are launched. Finally we cover every part of an operation.2023
Further expansion westwards, to Greenland2025
Name changed from Fossum IT to Fossum Aero Systems. First customers in eastern europe.2026
We join the European Helicopter Association and start cooperation with EACSA2027

With over 25 years of experience across diverse industries, Anders brings a broad strategic perspective and deep operational insight to Fossum Aero Systems.
He has held leadership roles in both startups and established companies.
His career spans technology, compliance, and digital transformation, giving him a unique ability to drive innovation and growth in complex, regulated environments.
Finn Espen Gundersen
CTO & Developer
Finn Espen has more than 25 years of experience as a software developer, architect and manager from various industries.
He has a Master's degree (siv.ing.) in computer science, continuously supplemented by several further recent exams at university level in subjects related to managing software development.
His experience from regulated industries, also in cyber security roles, is essential for developing efficient systems addressing compliance as built-in, not add-on.
Kjetil Fossum
COO & developer
Kjetil has more than 25 years of experience as a systems developer from different industries.
He has a college degree in Data Technology and Programming as well as a Master's degree in Business and Administration. In 2005 he founded Fossum IT which has become Fossum Aero Systems.
Kjetil has knowledge from different industries gives him a solid foundation to be able to understand the customers processes and to develop good solutions.
Gunleif Ræg
Systems operation & Database
Gunleif has more than 30 years of experience of server operation, programming and database hosting.
He has been working at IBM for several years and as a consultant at different software/consultancy companies in Norway.
Rune Aakre
Designer
Rune has improved websites, administrative IT-systems and even printed circuit boards since the year 2000.
A technical background with a designer's eye is rare to come by. He has been working within the tech sector his entire career.
